⁴⁰ When Cendebeus arrived in Jamnia, he began to harass the people and to invade Judea, taking prisoners and slaying them. ⁴¹ He rebuilt Kedron and stationed cavalry and infantry there so that they could go forth and patrol the roads of Judea, as the king had ordered.
